Service before self.
Since 1998.
The story behind EKG Global Solutions is not a business story. It is a story about what happens when someone decides — at twenty years old — that their life's work will be helping others through their worst moments.

Eric Griffin has spent 28 years building, leading, and evaluating emergency management programs across some of the most demanding environments in public sector work — from under-resourced county governments to a 21,000-person coastal research university to the offices of federal agencies and Congress. His career spans 14 federal disaster declarations, a congressional appointment under the 9/11 Commission Act, an international research fellowship in critical infrastructure protection, and faculty positions at two University of North Carolina institutions. That breadth is not incidental. It is the foundation of everything EKG Global Solutions delivers.
What distinguishes Eric from other consultants is the rare combination of operational depth and analytical rigor he brings to every engagement. He has designed and directed the UNC System Hurricane Zephyr Exercise Series — a component of FEMA's National Exercise Program, funded and evaluated by FEMA's National Exercise Division — contributed to national emergency management doctrine including the National Disaster Recovery Framework and the award-winning Achieving Equitable Recovery: A Post-Disaster Guide for Local Officials, secured and managed over $4.65 million in federal and foundation grants, and published five peer-reviewed research articles. He approaches every client engagement the same way he has approached every disaster — with preparation, precision, and an unwavering focus on outcomes.
Eric founded EKG Global Solutions on a straightforward belief: that the organizations he serves — and the communities they protect — deserve a consultant whose reputation depends entirely on their success. EKG serves clients across government, higher education, critical infrastructure, and the nonprofit sector worldwide.
What drives the work.
A career built from the ground up.
Eric's path to founding EKG Global Solutions was not a straight line — it was built incrementally, through roles that each added a new dimension to his understanding of emergency management. He began as part-time staff with Wake County Emergency Management during the September 11 attacks. He then established Orange County's first full-time emergency management program, implementing WMD and homeland security programs in the post-9/11 era. He led emergency management at UNC Wilmington, directing the FEMA-supported Hurricane Zephyr Exercise Series across 11 campuses and managing the institution's response to Hurricane Florence. And for nearly four years, he served as an Associate at The Cadmus Group, supporting FEMA across five client offices including the Office of Response and Recovery.
Each chapter added something the previous one could not — operational experience, institutional knowledge, federal fluency, academic rigor. EKG Global Solutions exists to bring all of it to bear for clients who need more than a consultant. They need someone who has been there.
